I was so excited this year for my birthday. My besties and my hubby J had been plotting for weeks! I knew it was going to be fun, but boy I had no idea!! All I was told was that I would be busy on both Sunday the 29th, and Monday the 30th (my actual birthday). Oh, and I was told to dress up for the Sunday events.
Now, the sad story is that I had bought a pair of high-waisted harem pants from Goodwill for $1.99, and had this amazing outfit centered around them planned. Sunday comes, and I had yet to try on my outfit to make sure it “worked”. Alas, the pants were just too snug to fit comfortably. One minor freak out session and one call to the old roomies later, and I was on my way to their house to find some alternative options. Funny how things ALWAYS work out, I ended up loving my outfit EVEN MORE!!
For my Birthday Soiree on Sunday, I wore the outfit
on the LEFT side of this post. The shirt I thrifted from
Thriftsmart and then refashioned, which I showed you
how to do here and wore with other thrifted and
handmade items here. (Obviously, I am LOVING this top!)
The floral skirt was borrowed as were the earrings, the
bracelets were handmade and thrifted (~$7 for all of them)
and the gold glitter heels were only $8.50 at Target!!!!
On my actual day of birth, I slept in and then was picked up
by my best friends for a day of surprises! We went to breakfast
at The Perch-Green Hills, got pedicures at Venetian Nail Spa,
then went to lunch at Wild Ginger with a few other dear friends!
Such a fun day, and as you’ll see on the RIGHT side of this post,
I got to wear my new mint jeans from ModCloth which was my
much anticipated birthday gift from the hubs. I also wore this deep
faded pink sleeveless shirt from Goodwill, My favorite necklace
from Francesca’s Collections, thrifted earrings and bangle that cost
$1.99 and $0.99 respectively, and leopard kitten heels that
disappeared mysteriously from my old roomies closet months ago…;)
